The Road to Success

What does the road to success look like to most people?  Is it an automatic thing where you try and succeed on the very first try?  I would venture to say that most successful people only find success after they have experienced failure.  With that thought in mind, if you are someone who is afraid to fail, you may never find success.  I truly believe that even those things that we might appear to be horrible at doing, are things that are necessary for God to prepare us for what we are meant to be great at doing.  I tried this and failed.  I tried that and failed.  I tried again and again but yet I failed again and again.  How does this benefit me to keep trying?

      1)  I gain perseverance because I have
continued to try in the face of
            failure.
      2) Although I may have failed, I have
           gained valuable experience along
           the way.
      3) I have gained insight into to what
works and what does not work.  So
as I come to the thing that God
has purposed for me and I look back
over my past failures, I am able to
take a little from this experience and
piece it together with a little from
that experience and throw in a touch
of this from another experience.  I
then realize that my past failures
where not failures at all.  They were
          just stepping stones that were
          preparing me for my success.

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Be encouraged.

Bigger is Not Always Better

As we enter into this new year of 2016, God spoke into my heart that bigger is not always His intent to make my life better.  He gave me a visible illustration so I could see what He really meant.  I like to write.  At times I will sit down to work on material that I have previously worked on and God will give me a lot more to say so that when I put the work away at the end of that sitting, it is more than when I sat down that day.  That is great, but it is not always like that.  Sometimes I will sit down and God does not give me more to say but He does give me better ways to say some things that I have already said.  So I will go through my previous writing and restate some things in smaller concise ways.  On these days when I get up from my writing, the finished product is usually smaller than when I started.  My finished work is not bigger but it has still changed for the better.

God always wants us to be changed for the better.  It is important that we adjust our perspective and look more for better and not so much bigger.  So many times we are looking and expecting God to do big things in our life and many times are disappointed when we don't get them.  Often if we would just change our perspective we would see that God did do something better.  We just missed it looking for something bigger.

In 2016, lets look for better and not bigger and see how much more God can influence our life from the inside out.

Believe and be blessed in 2016.

The Crack In My Armor

I am looking at myself in the mirror
Looking for some scars
That might cause me to be alarmed
Can I truly see myself any clearer?
Thinking I have all my basis covered
Looking myself up and down
Feeling good about what I’ve discovered
I am a man after God’s own heart
I see a few scars
And a few flaws
But nothing I can’t handle with a little help from God

But wait

What’s that I see staring back at me?
All of a sudden I don’t recognize what I see
Could that really be me?
My body armor is not as pristine and clean as I once thought it to be
God where did that crack come from?
Is it really me?
I didn’t see that coming
I didn’t see that in me
Why would you let this be?
God’s reply to me
You lost sight of who I wanted you to be
I had to show you the crack in your armor
So you could really be useful to Me
God I don’t like what I see
Help me to be who I am supposed to be
Thank You for loving me unconditionally
For opening my eyes
And truly caring for me
Thank You for showing me

I have just released my very first book!

Introducing “From Me To You – A Letter to Christian Women about Covenant-Minded Men” by Bert Reece

I am so excited to finally introduce the release of “From Me to You – A Letter to Christian Women about Covenant-Minded Men.”  It is a letter, written in book form, to Christian women who have been hurt and because of their hurts now see all men through the lenses of those hurts.  “From Me To You” is a message of love, hope, individual accountability and open dialogue.  The goal of “From Me To You” is to bring hope to the hearts of hurting Christian women to let them know that there are men who view marriage as a covenant.

Through pain He gives us strength.  Through storms He provides us with shelter.  He is amazing.  He is God.
But God

Bruises once covered your most inner parts
Scars once hardened your hopeless heart
But God,
He who can reach
Into the deepest parts of your soul
He who can soften
The hardest of hardened hearts
He sees you
He feels you
But most importantly
He heals you
He is God

                                                                                  Bert Reece

Finally, I hope and pray that other covenant-minded men will stand up with me and let our beautiful sisters in Christ know that they are loved, honored and respected in a very special way.
