I was thinking about an old deodorant commercial the other day. The hook to the commercial was Sure? --- Unsure?. It compared the “sure” people who were confident that their deodorant would hold up in tough times against the “unsure” people who were not quite sure if there deodorant did hold up. The unsure people always did a double check. Both groups would be put in a position to have to raise their hands high in the air exposing the strength or lack of strength in their underarm deodorant.
In thinking about that commercial, I started to think about how many people are really “sure” about their salvation and are confidant about where they will go when they die versus those who are “unsure” or worse just don't care about their salvation.
Romans 10:9-10 tells us with assurance that we will go to heaven if we do two things.
Romans 10:9-10 says, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
God has assured us that what we think and what we say about His Son Jesus Christ will determine where we go when we die. If you sincerely confess Him as your Lord and Savior and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. God did not stutter. He did not say you may be or could be, He said you will be. That is good enough for me.
God bless you.
